4 Things You Must Know About Katie Clifton

Katie has a huge heart. She does what most of us are afraid to do, she wears her heart on her sleeve, & proudly. Katie’s a Mom (2 biological & 2 adopted, all hers), a wife, salon owner, sells LuLaRoe clothing, volunteers with the African Christian Outreach, & is a Values First Member. She’s got plenty of time right? Well, she also blogs & is insanely passionate about Jesus. I’m proud to call Katie a friend; I’m also proud to announce the 4 things about her, you must know more of:

1) What is your occupation & how does selling LuLaRoe correlate with your values & the values of the Values First group?

I wear many hats. I am a stylist and salon owner.

I sell LuLaRoe clothing and I work (volunteer) as the Missions Advocate for African Christian Outreach

My husband and I desire to honor the Lord with our money and our time and becoming debt free is something we are praying for. When I found LuLaRoe I fell in love because their line of clothing is modest and on trend; I want women to know they can feel confident and beautiful while showing less skin. Modesty is rarely valued in today's culture and it can be tough to find clothes that are both modest and fashion forward. LuLaRoe provides this and a wonderful source of extra income to help us in conquering debt.

2) Why do you blog?

I blog because I feel the Lord has called me to. I write for numerous online publications, on a regular basis. God has called me to use my voice to encourage, inspire and equip women to grow in their walk with Christ. I love having a creative outlet, for me to use my voice, to share what God gives me.

3) Why do you & your husband feel passionately about adoption

We feel so passionate about adoption because Christ first loved us. Adoption was not a choice we made: it was more of a calling and we desired obedience. The Lord chose me in advance, knowing I could give Him nothing, I would cost Him so much, and I would reject Him, run from His love, and YET- while I was still a sinner He died for me. He adopted me into His family and it is an honor to be the mom of my sweet kids.

4) If you could tell others one reason to join the Values First group, what would it be?

It is wonderful to know that we are not alone. As a mom of 3 girls I want to point them to Christ and to the values He has called us to. I want to teach my son how to respect women and not see them as objects. Having a community to share in these values is very encouraging. I want to be a woman who honors the Lord and my husband. Values First is a movement where we inspire and encourage other men and women to walk in this world with values and integrity.
